The handle is made from figured Sapele, Wenge (very common in Japanese knife handles), and curly maple. This is his original version of a Wa handle, which has more rounded edges vs. the more common octagonal shape. As we received a picture of a stunning custom knife, we happily share it. The handle in a curvaceous way was made of  some special material highly-figured Birdseye maple burl, and ebony wood from an old violin. It's a grain and color of wood with very fine. The hand-made wooden saya and special gift box are made of poplar wood. Also he made this custom knife gift for his friend’s wedding cake knife! Thanks for one of our customer, we introduce you some news.It's a fine model of custom knife handle making. He used epoxy and wood flour in the gaps in a wooden handle and  The handle was much too large for the blade, so I cut 25mm off at an angle. It's a nice handle shape finish.
