President Trump has signed an Executive Order implementing new tariffs and changing the de minimis treatment of tax exemptions as follows
Effective April 5, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT, an additional 10% - 25% tariff will be imposed on products originating in all countries/regions, in addition to existing duties, fees, and other taxes.

The 800 USD De Minimis is suspended for all countries. All shipments, regardless of their value or country or origin, will be subject to all applicable duties and require a customs entry

For goods that are worth equal to or under AUD1,000, there are no duties, taxes or charges to pay.
