The Kasumi togi hamon finish of shinogi part was attached additional polished of blade like a wave. So it's a beautiful looks. The wave patterns visible on the blade appear during the forging process and are unique to each piece. In addition, by spending more time on the forging process than with standard products, the metal fibers become finer, the steel becomes stronger, and a distinctive rippled pattern is created. 

This is an especially sharp and high class hardness Japanese knife blade, using core blade blue-2 steel from Yasuki hagane, which is reputed to be the top grade of steel for knives.  This knife was forged by Tansetsu traditional way. It is recommended for Professional Chefs.

Note: Kasumi Polished finish blade has some slight scratch line on the blade. and there are some tiny rust and crack on back side, tansetsu part,tang part and a tiny curved. it's not defective. ibuki Sasaoka sashimi and deba knives are designed for professional chefs , are finished with the expectation that they will be sharpened before use. Please note that the blade tips may have minor imperfections.
